RetireFlow - Privacy Policy

Overview

RetireFlow is designed with a Privacy-First architecture. Your financial planning data stays on your device. The Developer does not operate a server, does not collect your personal financial information, and does not sell or share your data.

This policy describes what data the App stores locally, what limited data is transmitted when you use optional features, and how third-party service providers handle their respective data.

1. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All financial planning data you enter is stored exclusively on your device using your phone’s local storage (iOS: NSUserDefaults / AsyncStorage). The Developer has no access to this data.

What is stored locally:

First name and last name (entered at first launch for legal acceptance record)
Date of birth
Financial planning inputs: income, balances, asset allocations, goals, assumptions
Saved scenarios (up to 5 slots)
App settings and preferences
Legal acceptance timestamp and version

No Cloud Sync: Because all data is stored locally, the Developer cannot recover your data if the App is deleted or the device is lost. You are responsible for any manual backups.

Your AI API key (if you enable the optional AI Observations feature) is stored in your device’s secure keychain (iOS Keychain), not in plain local storage.

2. Optional AI Features

Optional — User-Enabled

If you enable the AI Observations feature and provide your own API key (BYOK — Bring Your Own Key), the App will transmit data directly from your device to the AI provider you select (Google Gemini, OpenAI, or Anthropic). The Developer does not proxy, store, or have access to these transmissions.

What is sent to the AI provider:

An anonymized financial projection summary: your residency, approximate ages, rounded dollar aggregates, asset allocation percentages, decade-level projection snapshots, Monte Carlo percentiles, and planning assumptions. No names, email addresses, or birthdates are included in this payload.
Your typed chat messages (up to 500 characters per turn). You should avoid typing personally identifiable information into the chat.

Data transmitted to AI providers is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms of service, not by RetireFlow. You are responsible for any API costs incurred. You may disable AI features at any time in the App’s Settings screen.

3. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases (RevenueCat)

Third-Party Service

RetireFlow uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and purchases. When you make a purchase, RevenueCat receives:

An anonymous device identifier generated by RevenueCat
Your subscription entitlement status (free or premium)

Your financial planning data is never transmitted to RevenueCat or Apple as part of the purchase process. All billing is handled by Apple Media Services under your Apple ID.

4. No Analytics or Crash Reporting

RetireFlow does not include any third-party analytics, telemetry, advertising, crash-reporting SDKs (such as Firebase, Sentry, Amplitude, or Mixpanel). The Developer does not receive usage statistics or diagnostic reports from the App.

5. Data Retention

Your locally stored data persists on your device until you delete the App or clear its storage. No data is retained on any server operated by the Developer.

AI chat history is held in device memory only for the duration of the current session and is not written to persistent storage.

6. Children’s Privacy

RetireFlow is designed for adults planning for retirement. The App does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

The Developer may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
